I’m hosting this page on behalf of my friend Roua to raise the remaining amount she needs so that she and her children can evacuate to safety. This is a continuation of her previous GoFundMe page, which had to be closed when the host became unavailable. 100% of funds raised will be transferred directly to Roua. These are her words:
My name is Roua, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help. My family and I have endured unimaginable hardship in Sudan, where armed clashes between the Rapid Support Forces and the army have caused severe shortages of food, water, and electricity.
While pregnant, I faced daily struggles and constant fear, as our area was blocked off and the situation deteriorated rapidly. Despite the dire conditions, I managed to survive until the ninth month of pregnancy. I had to escape to a nearby area to find medical care, as no healthcare facilities were operational in my own area. I was fortunate to receive emergency care and give birth to a beautiful baby girl.
Now, with my newborn and young son, our greatest hope is to escape this war zone for a safer, more stable life. We need to ensure our children have access to education, proper healthcare, and basic needs.
In the chaos of the war, I have lost everything I once held dear. My savings, which represented years of hard work and dreams for the future, have been wiped out. My job, which provided not only for my family but also gave me a sense of purpose and stability, is no longer a reality. The war has torn apart the life I had built, leaving me without a means to support myself or my loved ones.
Every aspect of my life has been affected. We are exposed to RSF artillery shelling almost everyday in my area in Omdurman. All I want is to save my family my little kids and evacuate to safety.
I am reaching out to you, not only for financial support but also for hope. Your contributions will help me cover the immediate costs of evacuation for me and my children.
